Re: SatMex 6 at 113° West
This depends on your location as to which dish size you need.
Just tell me your nearest city and I can recommend a dish size for you. A 31" (80cm) to 39" (100cm) dish is recommended with a Linear LNB generally for True FTA satellites. Most large dishes will come with a Linear LNB for free. Check out this satellite's channels here --> SatMex 6 at 113.0°W - LyngSat This satellite is lacking a lot of channels. There are many better satellites than this for Mexican channels or spanish speaking broadcasts than this satellite. There is only like 9 channels there for True FTA viewing, if they are all even there anymore. Channels move from satellite to satellite at times. The only channels you can get are the ones in yellow listed after TP 12000 on an FTA receiver. The other 11 channels in brown are encrypted channels. You can view check this --> http://www.aaafta.com/forum/dish-poi...-lnb-freq.html You may want to get a motor, so you can move the dish from satellite to satellite. So if you are going to go with a motor, you should get an Invacom QPH-031 LNB. These LNBs are both a Circular LNB and a Linear LNB built into one.

Re: SatMex 6 at 113° West
Hello my_cnx! I just did a currnent scan for you,and Woodcreeker is right on the money, only 9 channels coming thru clear (KU band) tho 3 of these channels are duplicates,so basically youre looking at 6 viewable channels. For true fta a motorized setup is the way to go regardless of the type of programming one is looking for.I hope this helps in youre fun journey in true fta..

Re: SatMex 6 at 113° West
Since you are in CA, I would recommend a 36" dish, actually.
They are not too expensive, and not very much more than a smaller dish. Always remember the bigger the better for True FTA. You are on a fringe area near a coast, so I would go a little larger than 31". Try to get the biggest you can afford. The trouble with larger dishes is the oddball size for shipping purposes. I think once you are beyond 36" in any package direction the rates go up like $100 just for the shipping from most carriers. Also you can look for a 90cm dish, which is the same size. If you decide to get a motor with your large dish you will really learn a lot about all the satellites up there, and have access to many, many channels of the types that you are probably looking for. They are sort of tough to setup, but they are very cool. We can help you do the setting up.
