Pansat 2700 clone help
Hey was away for 6 months and I just got back wanted to get my Pansat 2700 clone running. I downloaded Pansat C loader v 27.02, got the new Bin - Pansat C2700 269V1 TiVo and tryed to download through the cable.... sitting here for 10 mins at 0% is that normal? how long will it take or is something else going on. I've never done this, always taken it to get fixed.

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
There are 2 types of cables, straight through and nullmodem/crossover. They look exactly the same but work differently. You probably need for a Pansat 2700A/E and MOST 2700 CLONES - Nullmodem. I'll bet you got the straight. Unless you have a 2500 converted to 2700. You might also want to check and make sure you have the right port set in the loader pgm.

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
You probably have to look and see which COM port your computer is working on. Change it to COM 2 3 or 4 and see which one counts up. If neither of these work for you, get back to us.
You can check this in the Device Manager, click on the [+] in front of ports and then you can see which COM port the serial port is working on. If you have a USB to Serial Port Adapter, get back to me. If that doesn't do it, I also have another idea, since it has been 6 months. Are you sure it wasn't a lot longer? Then you may need a B-75 Upgrade.

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
My Pansat says "B2" when it first turns on, yeah it probably has been longer then 6 months, so I may need to get this upgrade. I'll look for it.
I threw out the wrapper for the cable so I have no idea what it is, I'll go to best buy and get another one today. As far as the Com Port it only works on COM 1 I get an error for the rest. In device manager I only have COM port 1 so I have the right one confirmed. I dont have a USB to serial port adapt. Thanks Jeff |

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
I hope you didn't run into any problems with the Pansat original B-75 Upgrade. I just posted the clone safe B-75 Upgrade, and changed boboisno1's link above. I remember there were problems with the original B-75 upgrades killing some clones. Hope I posted this in time.
If not, I guess if you shut off your receiver, you will may need to JTAG it. I hope I caught you before you did this in time. Building a new site, I have trouble remembering all these files! ![]() Good Luck !!

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
Well after going to Best buy (who stared at me blankly) Futershop and Tiger Direct I've had no luck finding the right cord but I'm still looking. With alittle luck that should solve my problem. I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks for your help so far |

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
You only need a JTAG cable if your receiver stopped working. I hope you were just looking for a null modem cable. Radio Shack would be your best bet.
If it is still flashing B2 or whatever it is flashing, try the B-75 Clone Upgrade above. You do NOT need the JTAG cable unless your receiver appears dead. It is my fault I didn't upload the clone B-75 upgrade last night when I thought of it to avoid this potential situation. Like I said above, I hope you didn't program your receiver with a regular B-75 upgrade. You probably can still rescue it if you did WITHOUT doing a JTAG. Let us know either way, we will have to post a clone JTAG file kit for you.

Re: Pansat 2700 clone help
Glad you are running. Pansats are a little tricky to operate.
Hit the SAT button and select Ech*st*r Package. This will renumber your channels into the proper order. If you have a different receiver working, make sure you are using the same settings in the Pansat clone antenna setup. If you have a Legacy Twin LNB, you will have problems operating the Pansat clone on that. Even the Pansat originals cannot produce the proper 22 KHz tone to switch these types of Twin LNBs. So, basically, the best alternative would be to get a Dish Pro Twin LNB. If you want to maybe add more orbital positions in the near future, like say Nimiq 1 on another dish, you can add 2 Legacy dual LNBs to the Dish 500 and connect them with a DiSEqC switch. Right now I am guessing, because I do not know which Dish / LNB system you have. Just remember the older Pansats have problems trying to use 22 KHz switching.
