Re: need help with pansat 3500s

Here is a C&P from a guy named setwire

"Before you jump into Jtagging the unit------Meter out all the voltages coming out of your Power Supply Board to make sure they are all there.

Many a person has spent hours trying to Jtag their Pansat receiver only to find their problem was the D9 Diode in the power Supply Board.

It is usually D9 that blows on these units.Pansat 2500, 2700 and 3500 Power Supply Boards.

If you know how to use a volt meter then check and see if you are getting all correct voltages out of your power supply to your main board.

The various voltages for each of the leads are printed on both the power supply board and the main board.

If voltages are not all there, check D9 to see if it is functioning properly.

The failure diode is marked "D9" on the power supply PCB, it is located just front of the transformer middle of the board right hand side when viewed from front.

It is round, black in colour and has a silver band on one end, and is standing away from the board.

Replacement for this is ECG 577 or NTE 577,they can be purchased at most electronics shops.

When replacing make sure you orient the silver band the way it was originally.

Leave the legs long as this unit puts off a fair amount of heat."
